Dear Friend and Neighbor:
Officer Joe Corr was a son, brother, husband and father. On February 27th, 2006 when he was shot and killed in the line of duty, our lives, the lives of many of his friends and all those who knew him were changed forever. We have, from that very first cold February night, been continuously amazed at all of the support that was given to all of us and Joe’s Police Family. We will always be grateful for the outpouring of sympathy and kindness to all of us.
However, throughout this journey, we realized there was one thing that always concerned us. There was one thing that was really missing. That is, there is no place in the central New York area where the story of those Officers that have made that ultimate sacrifice can be told. That is one of the reasons that we established the Officer Joseph D. Corr Foundation and are asking for your help today.
As a 501(c) 3, The Officer Joseph D. Corr Foundation has three primary objectives:
- Raise funds to memorialize those Police, Firefighters and EMS that have made the ultimate sacrifice in the CNY area being defined as Oneida, Madison, Herkimer and Lewis Counties.
- Support scholarships in the Law Enforcement Field (We currently fund three).
- Funding and support of Police, Fire and EMS survivors and their immediate families with other immediate needs.
